Depending on the test, usually blood test results are available within 48 hours of the test being taken.
You can call the surgery between 10am and 6pm to check on your results.
Due to the high volume of blood tests taken at the surgery, unless it is clinically urgent, the surgery is unable to call you to inform you of your result.
Winchester Hopsital provides a walk in Phlebotomy Clinic. For more information on this please click HERE. In addition to this, Patients can also phone 01962 824735 to make an appointment at Winchester Hospital on Saturdays from 8am to 12pm and Thursdays 5pm to 7pm. Please note these times are by appointment only.
Please note the Surgery does not provide a phlebotomy service for patients under 16. If your child needs to have a blood test you can go to any of the following:
- Sophie’s Place (01962 824223) at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital on a Friday 08.00 – 20.00
- Charlie’s Day Unit (01256 313697) at Basingstoke and North Hampshire Hospital on a Thursday 08.00 – 20.00
It would be appreciated if parents can ring in advance if they plan on attending Charlie’s Day Unit or Sophie’s Place, in order that staff can ensure that they are advised if the unit is particularly busy aa there may be a delay in your child being seen.

Wednesday: 07.30 – 13.30 (clinic attendees only)
13.30 – 16.30 (Drop in / GP referrals and clinic attendees)
These times also coincide with the times that our paediatric clinics will be running to avoid further inconvenience for those children who need to have blood tests.
In addition, the Surgery is working in partnership with Mid Hampshire Healthcare to provide a phlebotomy service for out patients. If you are unable to book a Phlebotomy appointment at the surgery you can look for an alternative venue and times by visiting the Med Hampshire Healthcare website.
